The department profile
The department of physics, electrical engineering and applied mechanics ensure the physics teaching on 3 from four faculties of Technical University in Zvolen. The department in the teaching praxis focuses on the basic physics, building physics, thermophysics, teoretical and applied electrotechniques and acoustics.
Science and research activities
The department in publications and projects solving, is focused on the termophysical properties determination, the wood surface modification using EM radiation(changes of colour and surface structures of wood using CO2 laser and UV radiation), the noise in the environmental and work space, electronics application in the laboratory experimental devices and thermovison application( hidden centre of fire, temperature and fire monitoring in technical devices) and heat transfer study in the process of composite wood materials pressing with addition of different fillers based on wood.
The department history
Department of physical, electrical engineering and applied mechanics during their existence after creation of Faculty of Wood Science and Technology has got by difficult evolution. Under actual name the department exists from year 1992; the actual name was declared by university from 1. 11. 2003.
